Asian Startegy & Leadership Institute

ASLI is the leading independent, private and not for profit think tank in Malaysia that is committed to creating a better society. Since its inception in 1993, ASLI has been the definitive voice of strategy and leadership in the country, having provided trusted insights to governments, businesses and the diplomatic community as well as promoting dialogues to understand and better relations amongst government, business and civil society in ASEAN as well as the wider Asia-Pacific region.

ASLI provides strategic analysis and advice on critical issues through conferences, policy roundtables and strategic forums by gathering industry thought leaders together to exchange views, develop policy options and key recommendations. ASLIs’ programmes have been participated by Heads of States, Prime Ministers, Senior Cabinet Ministers, captains of industry, prominent strategic thinkers, corporate CEO’s, Ambassadors and emerging young leaders.

ASLI has recently restructured its organisation with new management team and aligning all our focus to its original mandate – 'Dedicated To Creating A Better Society'. The Chairman of ASLI, Y.Bhg Tan Sri Dato Seri Dr. Jeffery Cheah AO has directed ASLI to focus on nation building and sustainable development initiatives. Our focus will not just be in organising the traditional forums and summits, but rather ensure that for all our engagements we will develop proceedings and outcomes, and provide the same to relevant stakeholders with recommendations for implementation. Where able, ASLI will offer to assist in its implementation. We are also focusing on policy work and measures have been already put in place to strengthen our research areas.

On 18 December 2018, we relocated our office to a comfortable and conducive office in Sunway Lagoon Club. This day marks the most significant day in ASLI with 25 years of leadership excellence, as the super connector with corporate companies, government ministries, universities, NGOs and across all walks of life, striving on what we do best in nation building. Having upgraded facilities in an integrated township in Sunway, not only enhances our productivity but opens great collaborative opportunities with top academia practitioners to solidify our position as the leading policy research centre and further strengthen our offers in providing independent and unbiased research studies.

At ASLI, when we say “Dedicated to creating a better society”, it is more than just a tagline; it is our motivating force. Our stakeholders, members and staff share a passion for making the greatest impact on the world around us to benefit society today, and in the future.

ASLI has earned a reputation we can be proud of, as a world leading independent private Think Tank. That reputation is built on more than two decades of Asian strategy and leadership excellence. Beyond connecting people, we are passionate about making a positive impact on the national and regional agenda. And this is the key to fulfilling our mission by creating a better society for all.

ASLI is pressing on what we do best to serve the community, the nation and the region.  We continue to build on ASLI’s unique strengths, attributes and relevance to the country and to the world. In all our initiatives, we see, hear and experience examples every day of how people are changing the nation in large and small ways. We prepare for the future today by connecting all key stakeholders in relevant platforms, playing a greater part in transforming our community and our nation.

We would also like to take this opportunity to inform you that ASLI has no other subsidiaries apart from its current operation. We cemented our fundamentals in righteousness, justice and peace, and continue to uphold strongly in integrity and ethical practice in all our activities.
